We know model ice

There is no other marine consulting and testing facility in the world with such a large full-scale - model-scale test correlation database, which is the one most important asset for correctly predicting real world physics from model testing.

AARC's references include some 400 model test series. These include the whole range of physical modelling, ship resistance and propulsion tests, behaviour and performance of ships and structures in different ice conditions and water depths, and also tests like manoeuvring and ice formation against structures.

The unique FG Model ice has been developed inhouse. It has proven to be the most reliable ice material to model different ice conditions. Both the Arctic Offshore Research Center in Helsinki and the Krylov Shipbuilding Research Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia, rely on ice technology and equipment supplied by AARC.
