Arctic / Antarctic Ships

AARC offers a range of proven icebreaking ship designs for different operational needs.
Ship types include icebreakers, cargo vessels and vessels for Arctic offshore operations as well as for Antarctic scientific work..

The group has more 40 years of experience in developing and building ships for efficient operation in Arctic and Antarctic areas.

A total of 60 icebreakers have been built, ranging from super-class, nuclear-powered icebreakers of the highest ice class to small river and lake icebreakers. More than 40 special Arctic vessels have been built, ranging from Arctic multi-purpose cargo vessels and tankers of the highest ice class to rescue vessels and shallow draught river-sea cargo vessels.

Today Aker Arctic also offers ”standard” type vessels and design packages for execution of shipbuilding contracts. See References for more.
