Aker Arctic studies self-propulsion for drilling rig Kulluk

27-March-06

Aker Arctic has been awarded by Shell Exploration and Production Company a study and model test work to assess the feasibility of providing thruster aided propulsion for the drilling MODU KULLUK, which Shell has recently acquired for their planned Beaufort Sea 2007-2009 summer drilling campaign. The target is to provide the KULLUK with propulsion capability to provide better directional control when under tow or underway.
